As soon as I saw vector 2, I immediately bought it, seeing as I thought that Nekki is an amazing developer. I loved the first game for both its astonishing free running mechanics and its likable simplicity. It feels like both have been sacrificed in order to give the game a "new", "fresh" feel. I say that in quotation marks because although both the art design and the animations look stunning and vastly improved from the first game, it does lose much the first game had to offer. The free running mechanics, although seem as if theyre from the first game, feel clunky and slow, and I feel like its been done to show off the "pretty" animations. But I feel that this game isnt deserving of a better rating simply because of the mechanics. I loved the first vector game for its simplicity; evil corporation, odd one out, run from security. Thats all. Completely told within one skippable cutscene when you open the game. Along with that, the confusing upgrade system feels tacked on, in order to give it a deeper façade. In conclusion, I feel that vector 2 needs a lot of polish, despite the smooth graphics. Until then, it gets a 2 star rating and 200mb of space freed from my phone.
